Invested by PetroVietnam, the 1,200 MW Long Phu 1 is the first in the three coal-fired thermo power plants of the Long Phu Electricity Centre built in Sóc Trăng province, southern of Vietnam. Covering an area of 115 ha, the two-turbine plant is expected to use effective and environmentally-friendly technologies and materials imported from Indonesia and Australia. The plant will provide around 7.8 billion KWh annually to the national power grid and speed up the local socio-economic development.
