We are thrilled to announce that the high-rise residential building CT1 - The Wisteria has successfully topped out ahead of schedule! To gain deeper insights into this remarkable achievement, we interviewed Mr. Phan Viet Anh, the project manager.

When asked about his feelings regarding the project's early completion, Mr. Viet Anh expressed his delight, stating, "The entire engineering team is overjoyed. This milestone is a testament to our hard work and effective project management."

The construction industry is fraught with challenges, as Mr. Viet Anh pointed out, "Weather is an uncontrollable factor. For example, during the excavation phase, we often faced delays due to heavy rain, which could sometimes extend from 1-2 days to as long as 5-10 days."

To effectively manage risks and unforeseen challenges, Mr. Viet Anh explained, "Ecoba has developed a robust risk management system. By leveraging our experience from numerous projects over the years, we have compiled a comprehensive list of potential risks and corresponding mitigation strategies. For each project, our engineering team carefully assesses the specific risks and implements the most suitable countermeasures. After each project, we conduct a post-project review to identify lessons learned and improve our processes."

Mr. Viet Anh further emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating, "Every team member plays a crucial role in the project's success. We hold weekly meetings to ensure that tasks are clearly assigned and progress is on track. I personally oversee and coordinate the work to align with the agreed-upon timeline."

Three key factors contributed to the successful topping out of The Wisteria project:

  • Robust risk management system: Ecoba's well-established risk management system provided a solid foundation for the project.
  • Favorable market conditions: The project was executed during a period of market slowdown, which allowed for ample resources, including manpower and subcontractors.
  • Stable design: The lack of significant design changes throughout the project contributed to a smoother construction process.

Regarding environmental considerations, Mr. Viet Anh shared, "Ecoba has been proactive in implementing LEED standards, including waste segregation at the source and establishing a system for collecting and treating construction waste."

In closing, Mr. Viet Anh offered advice to young engineers, saying, "Ecoba has developed a strong system for managing projects. I encourage young engineers to study and understand our systems, such as risk management, cost control, schedule management, and resource management. By applying these systems diligently in their work, they can achieve significant results."

We are proud of the efforts and accomplishments of our engineering team. We hope that these lessons will inspire future generations.
