As the general contractor of the Monbay Ha Long project, Ecoba not only ensures construction progress but also applies various technical solutions meeting international standards, aiming to deliver a modern and sustainable development.
The Monbay Ha Long Urban Area, located in Ha Long Ward, Quang Ninh Province, covers an area of 5,840 m². The project is planned under a modern model, emphasizing green spaces, synchronized infrastructure, and the application of smart urban solutions. The building consists of 28 floors above ground and 3 basement levels, reaching a height of nearly 108 meters, and integrates apartments, offices, and commercial services.
Monbay TV, the project’s investor, selected Ecoba as the general contractor, based on its strong evaluation of the company’s organizational capacity and site management competency, particularly in large-scale and technically demanding projects.

The Monbay construction site presents unique challenges due to its location in the cultural and tourism center of Quang Ninh Province, near the square and Quang Ninh Museum. This position requires construction solutions that ensure safety, maintain the surrounding landscape, and minimize environmental impact. An Ecoba representative shared that the coastal geological conditions consist mainly of hard rock, creating difficulties during excavation and foundation treatment. Furthermore, groundwater levels fluctuate with the tides, affecting basement construction progress, while Ha Long’s heavy rainfall demands a stringent quality control plan.
The building façade features multiple sharp-edged details requiring high precision. To meet these requirements, Ecoba selected appropriate construction methods and optimized material use to ensure structural stability while maintaining harmony with the urban landscape.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, Project Director, stated that the engineering team utilized rock-breaking machines combined with expansion powder and CO₂ injection to handle the foundation, while adjusting basement construction methods according to tidal changes. “Our goal is to maintain safety and meet schedule targets under complex geological conditions and challenging weather,” he said

Ecoba shared that its experience working with international investors has helped the company develop a management process aligned with global standards. Through its strategic partnership with Haseko, a leading Japanese construction contractor, Ecoba has adopted advanced quality management and construction techniques. The two sides jointly developed the VHPS standard and established a Quality Improvement Committee involving Japanese experts and Ecoba’s technical team.
At the project, Ecoba implemented a four-level inspection and acceptance process, involving the project supervisor, quality management officer, chief supervisor, and department head, along with quality experts. This process helps control risks and minimize errors at every construction stage.
Monbay is also one of the projects where Ecoba applies its “5H Philosophy”, emphasizing Safety, Sustainability, Comfort, High Quality, and Health. This set of principles was previously applied in several major projects such as Mong Duong 1 & 2, Nghi Son Refinery, Long Son, Vinh Tan 4, and Lotte Mall.
