BACK TO THE NEWS PAGESince June 1, 2020, Ecoba Vietnam has officially operated the SAP S/4 HANA enterprise management system across the entire Company. Up to now, after 9 months of official operation, the following remarkable achievements have been recorded:
- 100% of project budgets and costs are managed in real time
- Monthly accounting closing time reduced from 30 days to 7 days
- 10% reduction in direct project management costs
After a period of implementation and deployment to each project, the SAP – ERP system at Ecoba Vietnam has achieved many notable results such as: providing an overall view and tight control over all production and business activities; improving employees’ work efficiency and quality; managing risks by forecasting possible scenarios and increasing data accuracy.

“…Risk reduction is what the SAP S/4 HANA system has brought to our FICO module. Thanks to the system, data from individual projects are consolidated into company-wide data. As a result, actual costs are recorded promptly and in detail down to each work item, minimizing incorrect cost allocation thanks to detailed initial planning. At the operation office, we can control and urge the handling of materials and incurred costs that have not yet had payment documents prepared, thereby providing a basis to urge projects to complete documentation. “…At the procurement planning stage, previously procurement plans were built based on the actual needs of projects at each stage, so we could not grasp the total volume of goods needed to be supplied from the beginning. This led to the inability to create scale advantages when negotiating prices with suppliers.
Currently, thanks to the system, we can track volumes and supply timelines of goods and services from the planning stage, thereby creating advantages for the company in negotiations and allowing us to allocate resources more effectively.
At the procurement implementation stage, previously historical procurement data were stored on paper or Excel, making it very difficult for us to consolidate and look up information to make procurement decisions.
Currently, procurement history is updated in real time, allowing us to retrieve and consolidate management report information easily. In addition, the system also automatically supports budget and procurement volume alerts.
At the inventory and cost control stage, previously we could only determine inventory levels after quarterly inventory checks, and costs could only be recorded after payment documents were prepared and transferred to the accounting department.
Currently, we can check and control inventory and costs in real time.”

“…As the department directly interacting with and advising customers, previously we faced many difficulties in anticipating issues arising during project implementation, leading to uncontrolled accumulated issues toward the end of projects, affecting project cash inflows.
Since the SAP system has been put into operation, we now have sufficient data to manage and integrate construction product sales data from contract signing to project settlement. As a result, we can better control risks and arising issues during the sales process. After 9 months of implementing the SAP S/4 HANA enterprise management system, Ecoba Vietnam has completed the development of the SAP User Guide system for all Ecoba Vietnam employees. This is a project of great significance to the Vietnamese construction industry, in line with the policy and current trend of digital transformation and application of Industry 4.0 technologies.
