BACK TO THE NEWS PAGEEcoba Vietnam recently held an award ceremony to honor the Warranty Execution Team of the Warranty Center and the QAQC Department of the Quality Technical Division for their outstanding performance in the warranty fulfillment of the Long Son Petrochemicals Project. In particular, the team demonstrated highly effective operational capability by successfully negotiating and persuading the General Contractor, TPSK, that repair work for water infiltration in the Cooling Tower item was unnecessary – a crucial decision that helped save costs and optimize the project schedule.

RESPONSIBILITY AND ATTITUDE ARE KEY FACTORS
Sharing his thoughts on the recognition, Mr. Tran Van Khoa, Head of Ecoba Vietnam’s Warranty Department, emphasized the vital role of responsibility in the team’s success. According to him, responsibility is the core element that motivates the team to continuously improve and seek optimal solutions. “We dedicated time to thoroughly research the contract and drawings, and sought professional advice from Ecoba’s Quality Technical QAQC Department and the Institute for Building Science and Technology (IBST). This preparation enabled us to confidently present convincing arguments to the contractor and the investor. Furthermore, a positive attitude and respect for the partner are indispensable factors. These are the keys to maintaining long-term and effective cooperation.”
CHALLENGES MUST BE OVERCOME
One of the greatest challenges the team faced was the geographical distance and the frequency of exchanges with the partner. However, with a spirit of cooperation and a professional working attitude, the team overcame this difficulty. Mr. Khoa stated: “We had a total of 16 exchanges with the partner, including direct meetings and site surveys, online meetings, and 10 detailed email exchanges.”
INVALUABLE LESSONS LEARNED
From this project, the warranty team drew many valuable practical lessons. The Head of the Warranty Department shared: “When facing an issue, the most important thing is to respect the partner’s opinion, conduct thorough research, and prepare complete information. In addition, a professional attitude and the ability to handle situations quickly are also decisive factors in the success of the negotiation.”
