The mid-year review meeting of the HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) team at Ecoba Vietnam served as an important occasion to evaluate the first half of 2024 and set new goals for the remainder of the year.
General evaluation:
In the first six months, more than 85% of Ecoba’s projects successfully complied with HSSE system requirements. A key highlight was the weekly safety sessions to educate workers on regulations, and the “Greenday” (Green Saturday) initiative, which had a remarkably positive impact on engineers and workers across project sites.
However, the HSSE team also identified several areas for improvement. In particular, onboarding safety training will be a major focus in the last half of the year to enhance overall effectiveness.
Implementation directions for the last six months:
In discussion with Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Head of HSE, six key activities were outlined for implementation moving forward:
1.Control worker entry in accordance with established procedures.
2.Manage and monitor worker documentation at project sites.
3.Ensure 100% of workers receive safety induction training before starting work.
4. Ensure 100% project compliance with the company’s HSE management system.
5.Strengthen daily inspection and control of machinery and equipment (tower cranes, hoists, suspended platforms, forklifts, etc.) before operation.
6.Fully implement and comply with work permits (GPLV) for high-risk activities.
Mr. Tuan Anh shared: “Ecoba’s leadership places special emphasis on the principle that Safety belongs to everyone. Therefore, every individual must take personal responsibility in implementing and executing safety practices at the construction site.”
Outstanding achievement awards:
Ecoba Vietnam proudly recognized two engineers – Mr. Dang Duc Anh (Alpha Hai Phong School Project) and Mr. Nguyen Van Sao (Nitori Factory No. 3 Project) for their exceptional performance in Occupational Safety and Health Management at their respective projects. Their dedication stands as a testament to Ecoba Vietnam’s strong commitment to workplace safety and sustainable construction practices.
