BACK TO THE NEWS PAGEThe CIB-ICONS 2026 International Conference, themed “Empowering People, Protecting the Planet, Opening Opportunities,” was successfully held at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering from May 20 to 22, 2026. The event was co-organized by the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and the University of Wolverhampton, together with the committees of CIB, under the patronage of the Ministry of Construction Vietnam.
Not only an academic forum marking the 60th anniversary of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, CIB-ICONS 2026 also aims to address major challenges of the modern construction industry, with “people” placed at the center. The conference also opens opportunities for connection between universities, enterprises, and international organizations, in order to promote the development of high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s construction sector in the new era.
A key highlight of this year’s conference was the Vietnam – United Kingdom Business Matching (B2B) session. Unlike previous editions, the B2B session was designed as a policy dialogue platform, with the participation of senior representatives from departments and directorates under the Ministry of Construction Vietnam, the Ministry of Education and Training Vietnam, and the Ministry of Science and Technology Vietnam. The simultaneous presence of three key pillars—management, education, and innovation—created an open forum where core issues of the construction industry were discussed directly and from multiple perspectives.
