Mong Duong II – Coal fired Power Plant

The coal-fired plant is constructed following the BOT model with capacity of 1,120 MW and is the largest private sector power project in Vietnam. MD2 CFPP was constructed under the strict safety standard of AES-VCM. Lideco 3 was DOOSAN’s contractor of choice for critical civil works.

Main EPC Contractor: DOOSAN Heavy Industries Vietnam (Korea)

Packages:                      Civil works package as subcontractor to DOOSAN including the following critical structures:

    -       Steam Turbine Generator for Units 1 & 2:

                   o   Foundations on piles and on rock bed across 10,000m2 footprint area

                   o   Turbine Generator 3.0m thick mass concrete base, 15m high reinforced concrete columns

-       Cooling Water (CW) Seal Pit,  Discharge Pit & Discharge Culvert (5,000m3 RC) Cooling Water Intake Pump Station

             o   Continuous bored pile retaining wall with 3 No. layers of ground anchor ties

             o   Cement deep mixing waterproofing & deep well dewatering system

              o   13m deep excavation in poor soil & reinforced concrete pump station

-       Central Control Building (7 Story)

-       Additional works including:  Administration Building, CW Intake Pipeline (earthworks), CW discharge channel, FGD Local Control, Absorber Recirculation Pump Shelter, Limestone Preparation, Gypsum Dewatering, Coal Handling Electrical & Control House, Fire Water Pump, Coal Storage Shed buildings, Hypochlorite Generation &  Electrical Building for At CW Intake Structure, Motorcycle/ Bike Parking Shelter, Ash Handling Electrical & Control House and Ash Disposal Pump Shelter, bunker bays, ESP, PA/FD/ID, pipe rack structures foundation, limestone handling systems

Project Status :            Completed 97%.
